Posted on Tuesday, May 5, 2009

[Sioux Falls, SD] John Suranyi has been named the new CEO of Sencore, the Sioux Falls-based producer of advanced video signal delivery equipment and electronic measurement instruments used by broadcasters, manufacturers of broadcast hardware, video production engineers, cable and telco operators, and retailers of audio and video products.

Suranyi is the former President of Sales & Service at DirecTV, CEO of Cheetah Advanced Technologies, Inc. and National Vice President, Dish Network Service Corporation.

In January, The Riverside Company, the largest global private equity firm focused on the smaller end of the middle market and one of the industry's most experienced leveraged buyout investors, announced that it had acquired Sencore.  "John is the right person at exactly the right time", said Kristin Newhall, Riverside Partner.  "His proven ability to drive customer satisfaction, value, and growth has never been more important to Sencore than in this challenging economic environment.  We look forward to working closely with John and the Sencore team on expanding the company's product offering and expanding internationally."

A Jackson, Wyoming native, Mr. Suranyi earned a BS in Business from the University of Wyoming and has held numerous executive management positions in communications industry, the primary market for Sencore's products.

"This is an outstanding opportunity," Suranyi said in a written statement. "Sencore offers a broad suite of products serving multiple segments of the global video, audio and data transmission industries and is well-positioned to fill the growing market demand for advanced technology.  Sencore will continue to capitalize on the ever-changing technology in the growing broadcast industry."

Suranyi succeeds Al Bowden who announced in February that he would be leaving Sencore.
