JVC DELIVERS 3D HD IMAGERY FOR AIX RECORDS
Posted on Tuesday, June 7, 2011

WAYNE, NJ (June 6, 2011) – JVC Professional Products Company, a division of JVC Americas Corp., will be part of a unique demonstration of high definition, surround music at Audio Expo North America (AXPONA), a high-performance audio show that runs June 24-25, 2011, at the Affinia Hotel in New York City. Los Angeles-based AIX Records will present its unique 3D Music Albums™ using a JVC DLA-RS60U3DReference Series 3D projector.
At AXPONA NYC, JVC’s flagship projector will deliver a world-class 3D experience, combined with Dolby Laboratories TrueHD® audio encoding technology and AIX's recordings. The demonstration, which will be held in the Clinton Room on the fourth floor of the Affinia Hotel, is a partnership between AIX, JVC, Dolby Laboratories, Carnegie Acoustics, OPPO Digital, and DH Labs.
“The experience puts you right in the middle of the performance, both musically and visually,” said Gary Klasmeier, JVC product engineering manager, D-ILA Systems. “It immerses you in the middle of the recording session. For people who love music, it’s an intimate 3D experience that’s very different from sports, movies, or gaming.”
JVC’s DLA-RS60U3D projector is built using hand-selected, hand-tested components and provides a 100,000:1 native contrast ratio. Designed around JVC’s third generation D-ILA High Dynamic Range optical engine and featuring three 1920x1080 D-ILA devices, it delivers Clear Motion Drive technology to reduce motion blur. The DLA-RS60U3D is the flagship 3D projector from JVC; it is the first projector to gain THX® 3D Display Certification.
Dolby TrueHD, Dolby's 100 percent lossless technology, brings stunning high-definition sound to the home theater experience, unlocking the full potential of Blu-ray and future streamed HD media formats. Dolby TrueHD delivers powerful sound that is bit-for-bit identical to sound created in the recording studio, mixing stage, or at a live concert.
AIX Records is an independent, audiophile record and media label that was founded in 2001 by Mark Waldrep, Ph.D. It specializes in producing new recordings that are recorded using state-of-the-art digital equipment, opting for a natural balance and real room reverberation instead of digitally created room ambiance and equalization. During the past three years, all studio sessions have also been recorded using HD video equipment, and several sessions last summer were recorded in 3D.
AXPONA NYC has been named an official partner event of CE Week in New York, and will be held in conjunction with CEA Demo Suites and Conference. More than 100 high-end audio and technology companies are expected to exhibit at AXPONA NYC, which Is being marketed to audio professionals and consumers.
