(Spiceland, Ind.) – Draper® is partnering with Mermet® USA on a fundraising campaign to restore a level of independence for a U.S. military veteran.

The Independence Fund provides catastrophically wounded veterans the chance to get back outside, so they can enjoy the outdoors through a variety of devices, including all-terrain wheelchairs and adaptive bicycles.

Draper and Mermet have set a goal of $16,000—enough to provide an all-terrain wheelchair for one veteran in need. The vehicle will be presented at Mermet’s event during the International Window Coverings Expo, Thursday, March 26 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Independence Fund was founded in 2007 and is based in Charlotte. Its mission is to empower our nation’s severely wounded, injured, or ill veterans to overcome physical, mental, and emotional wounds incurred in the line of duty.
