Schneider Electric’s Mission Critical Services & Software Division and Data Center Service Provider Team Deliver the Most Comprehensive Approach to Energy Management from Plant to Plug

WEST KINGSTON, R.I. – March 12, 2013 – Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, today announced the expansion of its IT Business with the launch of the Schneider Electric Mission Critical Services & Software division, a dynamic set of capabilities offering the most robust software and services in the industry for any size data center, in any segment. Resulting from Schneider Electric’s acquisition of Lee Technologies in 2011, this launch represents the full integration of Schneider Electric’s end-to-end energy management services with Lee Technologies’ data center lifecycle methodology. Also launching today is the new Data Center Service Provider Team, a team of specialists committed to meeting the unique business and technology needs of co-location, hosting and cloud businesses. The Data Center Service Provider Team is a multi-disciplinary team that brings together solution architects, global project management and execution, supply chain and account managers to deliver innovative solutions and operational models that address this segment’s business imperatives around speed, profitability, and scalability.

“The launch of Schneider Electric’s Mission Critical Services & Software division and the Data Center Service Provider Team places Schneider Electric in a strategic position as the leader in end-to-end data center energy management,” said Rob McKernan, Senior Vice President, Americas, Schneider Electric IT Business. “We provide one-of-a-kind, holistic, and fully-comprehensive solutions that are unique and currently unavailable in today’s market, with energy management capabilities from planning, building and operations to energy procurement, lifecycle management and software, all from one company. This is further complemented by our team of consultative and technical experts that provide guidance every step of the way.”

Schneider Electric’s Mission Critical Services & Software division provides comprehensive offerings, including planning, design, commissioning, maintenance and operations, and assessments. Schneider Electric’s lifecycle approach optimizes return on capital employed (ROCE) at every stage of a data center’s life, effectively preserving capital, managing energy costs, ensuring reliability, and improving speed to market.  With the largest service force and breadth of offerings available on the market today, the Mission Critical Services & Software division provides support and services throughout the entire data center lifecycle for all types of data centers, including those in the healthcare, retail, financial, and cloud, co-location and managed hosting sector. Mission Critical Services & Software is also strengthened by Schneider Electric’s StruxureWare for Data Centers management suite, a comprehensive DCIM solution that provides real-time, detailed performance data and analytics to IT managers, facilities managers, and executives to support decision making at the operational level as well as the strategic level. A recently released addition to this suite is StruxureWare Data Center Operation for Co-location, designed specifically for data centers with multiple tenants.

Driven by mass digitization, globalization, and mounting economic, social, and regulatory pressures, companies are increasingly turning to managed hosting, cloud service providers, co-location service providers and multi-tenant datacenter providers to reduce costs and increase flexibility. The Data Center Service Provider Team brings Schneider Electric’s full portfolio to this fast growing, highly competitive market to meet its primary challenges: capital and operating cost control, capacity optimization, speed to market, and offer differentiation. Backed by Schneider Electric’s global supply chain and proven lifecycle methodology – from energy procurement through planning, construction, and operation – the Data Center Service Provider Team is in a unique position to partner with co-location, cloud, and hosting providers at a local, regional, and global level to drive cost savings and performance improvements throughout the data center lifecycle.
