Customers Can Easily Design and Deploy Efficient Datacenter Solutions
Including Physical Infrastructure, Monitoring, and Management
WEST KINGSTON, R.I. – October 14 , 2008 – APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, today announced an expanded relationship with EMC to incorporate the InfraStruXure® architecture into the EMCSelect third party reseller program. EMC Select helps customers easily acquire all the required components that comprise an information infrastructure.
APC’s InfraStruXure architecture fully integrates power, cooling, racks, environmental monitoring, physical security, and management, and allows for the selection of standardized components to create a solution through modular and mobile configurations. This standardization enables an easily scalable architecture that can meet changing needs and future expansion. When used with APC's new datacenter management suite of applications, including InfraStruXure Central, Capacity Manager and Change Manager, the complete system allows datacenter professionals to integrate the three essential elements of datacenter design, operations and management into one platform in order to optimize both efficiency and effectiveness in the physical layer. This award-winning approach provides increased availability, improved adaptability and speed of deployment as well as lower total cost of ownership for IT environments.
“We are pleased to continue teaming with APC to provide our customers with reliable power and cooling options through EMC Select,” said Justin Bartinoski, manager, EMCSelect. “APC’s InfraStruXure architecture provides our commercial and enterprise customers with flexible, energy efficient options in datacenter design. The ability to combine these products with EMC’s Energy Efficiency and Green Data Centerstrategies is extremely appealing to us.”
EMC Select is EMC’s third-party reseller business, which brings customers best-in-class hardware and software products to complete EMC information infrastructure solutions. The purpose of EMC Select is to ease the design, evaluation and procurement of third-party products required by EMCcustomers when building out robust datacenter solutions.
“EMC is a leading vendor in the enterprise space, and APC is delighted to serve as a physical infrastructure partner in the EMC Select program,” said Robert McKernan, APC’s president of North America. “This recognition further solidifies InfraStruXure’s position as the leading option for enterprise-class datacenters. Our modular design allows for the creation of datacenters of any size or high density zones within existing datacenters, which is extremely important when implementing today’s advanced data center technologies.”
